Following successful testing at a recent Member open day, we’re delighted to announce that Somerset County Cricket Club (SCCC) will be using TIXNGO from the start of the 2023 season, giving members and supporters the option to store and transfer digital tickets within a new mobile ticketing wallet.
When purchasing a ticket, fans wishing to use the app simply select “SCCC Mobile Ticket” as their chosen ticket delivery option. Tickets are automatically injected into the app two to three weeks before the match or event. Ticket holders then present their phones to be scanned at the gate to gain access.
Ben Warren, Head of Digital at Somerset County Cricket Club, said:
“We’re thrilled to introduce the option of digital tickets for our Members and general admission ticket holders. The increased use of digital self-service options will help improve their experience at the Cooper Associates County Ground.
The solution also addresses the secondary market for tickets because each ticket is associated with an identity. One of the biggest advantages of moving to TIXNGO is that it eliminates counterfeits because the tickets are encrypted with blockchain rendering the data immutable. This is a safer and fairer system for Somerset fans.”
David Hornby, Managing Director, SECUTIX UK and Ireland, added:
“We’ve been Somerset’s ticketing technology partner since 2021, when the Club started using our S-360 solution, a cloud-based ticketing platform, for ticket sales. We’re constantly striving to provide the most advanced digital solutions that meet our customers’ needs, so introducing TIXNGO was a natural next step in Somerset’s digital transformation. We’re delighted to be helping the Club use technology to build a closer relationship with their fans.
SECUTIX has a strong track record in cricket, working with seven County Cricket Clubs, managing ticketing requirements for the County Championships, Vitality Blast, Royal London Cup, and international fixtures at some of the most iconic cricket venues including Old Trafford, Edgbaston, Trent Bridge and the Oval.
We have been the ticketing technology partner of The Hundred since 2020, a testament to the applicability of the SECUTIX platform across different formats of cricket.
Lancashire CCC joined SECUTIX in 2018, after which we welcomed six more counties to the platform - Warwickshire in 2019, Nottinghamshire in 2020, Somerset, Kent and Surrey in 2021 and then Yorkshire CCC in 2022.
We look forward to working with Somerset CCC for seasons to come, assisting the Club’s ambition to constantly improve its fan experience. The implementation of TIXNGO is another exciting step in that journey.
