SECUTIX is delighted to have been part of yesterday’s historic match between India and Pakistan in the men’s T20 Cricket World Cup.
It was one of the most in-demand matches in T20 history, with over 2 million applications for the ticket lottery and 34,028 in attendance yesterday at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York. This is a record crowd for an international cricket match in the US.
One hundred per cent of tickets for the match were mobile-only. Tickets sold on both the primary and secondary markets were delivered through the official T20 World Cup ticket wallet, powered by SECUTIX’s digital ticketing solution.
The decision to make the event mobile entry only was taken by the Local Organizing Committee back in February and fans using the official app were able to transfer their tickets securely to their party.
The numbers announced include hospitality. SECUTIX’s SaaS-based Ticketing and Engagement platform managed all hospitality sales for the six different package offerings at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium.
SECUTIX also delivered all of the on-site parking operations and both parking and match tickets used SECUTIX’s access control solution.
SECUTIX teams were on site providing support to the T-20 Inc. Team on the ground in New York. Michael McDermott, SECUTIX General Manager of the Americas, said:
“It was an electric atmosphere with a sell-out, passionate crowd. Operations on the day ran smoothly, with very few people needing support from the ticket office.
We were able to communicate with all ticket holders by sending over 100,000 push notifications to customers encouraging them to get ready for the match and tips for swift entry, as well as letting them know when gates were open and which gates were quieter than others.
The few issues we saw at the ticket office were from people with fake physical tickets. But knowing that all tickets were delivered by us made it easy to identify problems and direct customers back to their point of purchase for resolution.”
Tickets are available for all remaining matches in both the US and the Caribbean with tickets selling fast for the final match in New York on Wednesday (USA v INDIA). Find the official link here.
